ScotiaMultisport Athlete Update

Unfortunately Gerald Robinson DNFed at Ironman Cozumel today; despite putting up a solid swim and bike, he injured his foot exiting the water and was unable to run so had to DNF after T2.

Gerald exited the water in 1:04:07 despite being stung by a jellyfish early in the swim. He was quickly through T1 (3:30) and had a really strong ride, even though he injured his foot as he came out of the water. Not knowing if he was going to be able to run or not, he stuck to the plan on the bike and hit T2 with a ride of 5:12:24 (21.5mph). Another quick transition (4:30) but his foot would not let him run so he dropped out shortly onto the marathon course.

Gerald will be looking to make up for the disappointment of today next year at Ironman Arizona; hopefully he has more luck next year than he had on the course today!
